Welcome! My name is Gia Kish, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for helping clients build on their strengths, set meaningful goals, and manage challenges like anxiety, stress, life transitions, and difficulties with behavior or impulse control. My approach to counseling is warm and compassionate, with an emphasis on authenticity—putting you in the driver’s seat to reach your personal goals. I utilize a mix of Solution-Focused, Person-Centered, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), working with you to create a treatment plan that is uniquely yours. I also have vast experience in working collaboratively with students and parents to navigate the education system and barriers.
Previous to this role, I worked in schools supporting students with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and academic needs. I have experience helping youth build emotional awareness, improve decision-making, and learn tools to better manage their responses in tough moments. I also have extensive experience supporting students and parents experiencing school refusal. Whether someone is navigating friendship drama, school stress, family dynamics, or just feeling stuck—I’m here to help in a way that feels supportive, practical, and real.
When I’m not in session, you’ll probably find me cooking something new, going to concerts, watching my favorite shows and movies, or snuggling up with my two cats to recharge!
If you’re looking for a therapist who’s supportive, down-to-earth, and focused on helping you grow, I’d love to work with you!
