Yes, to work with a Mindhues therapist, you need to talk with your parents. Your parents must provide their consent for your treatment, as well as your insurance and/or billing information.
For youth who wish to enroll themselves in therapy, Colorado offers a state funded program called I Matter. Youth who are 12 and over can enroll themselves in therapy through this program and access up to six free mental health therapy sessions. No, therapy is private and your therapist does not tell your parents what you share in a session. The only exception is if your safety or the safety of someone else becomes a concern.
