Hello and welcome! I’m Crishaena (pronounced Kri shay na), I use she/ her pronouns. I have a background in science and in 2024 earned a Master’s in Mindfulness based Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Transpersonal Art Therapy. I am currently a provisionally licensed counselor in Colorado and will soon hold art therapy credentials as well. Helping others heal inner wounds and find a comfortable home within themselves is a lifelong passion and pursuit.
I use an integrative, holistic, transpersonal, humanistic, and neurobiologically informed approach. This approach ensures a personalized, compassionate, evidence based, and culturally sensitive therapy setting. This foundation also creates space for using spiritual experiences for healing and gaining insight that expands beyond the self. This model is based on the value of the therapeutic relationship, with respect for safety and meeting you wherever you are, without judgment. This approach gives you space to go deep into difficult subjects at a pace which feels best for you.
My primary treatment modality is art therapy; however, I have also trained and have experience with traditional talk therapy, play therapy, and mindfulness-based modalities. I have a special interest in existential struggles and building resilience after difficult experiences such as loss and trauma. I have had the privilege of working in hospice with individuals of all ages experiencing grief, depression, stress disorders, chronic illness related stress, anxiety, existential challenges, identity, LGBTQIA+ challenges, trauma, chronic mental illness, attachment issues, and neurodivergence.
