LSW
5-24
Welcome! My name is Aela (pronounced Ay-lah) and I use she/they pronouns. I am a provisionally licensed social worker (LSW) and am currently in the process of receiving Clinical Trauma Professional certification. I take a holistic approach to my practice; I believe that you know yourself best, that you are the expert in your own experience, and that I’m here to walk with you and help you build the tools for your own success.
I have specialized experience with adolescents and young adults who have been through traumatic experiences; those who want to build a better future for themselves and who want to move from “surviving” to “thriving.” I also have experience working with individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+, those who have chronic disabilities, those who come from refugee or migrant families, and those with co-occurring substance use concerns.
In the spirit of seeing you as the expert in your own experience, I believe that choosing the evidence-based modalities that fit your needs is incredibly important to the process. I utilize a blend of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness-based practices that help develop coping skills, build resilience, and create long-term positive changes.
If this sounds like a good fit, reach out to schedule your first session with me today to take the initial steps in your healing journey.
